Blogs make money in different ways, like Google adsense, click bank products or CPA network products. Theses are third party products that you can advertise of put links to in your article. If you are using wordpress you can put ads in your side bar or header. You can also write product reviews on a certain product or service that you may have knowledge or experience with.

The main thing to remember is getting traffic to your blog and the strength of your article. Does your article help people, if you were reading your article would you find value in it. There are many bloggers making six figure incomes online with work 4 hour work days or less.

So the steps to blogging is research to begin. Who is your audience and what are they looking to do or what problem are they looking to solve. For instance, if you are a fish tank buff maybe your audience is looking to learn how to build their own fish tank. If you niche is fish then maybe you want to focus on a certain type of fish. Niche blogging involves picking a niche and then narrow down into that niche. You would not want to pick fish and start a blog on fish. You want to have small blogs about certain type of fish and sell a product either your own or a third party ebook product.

One thing you can do is have niche blogs that lead to a larger blog. For example, lets say your niche is fish. So you would blog on tropical fish, fresh water fish and so on. Then you would have a main blog that covers all your smaller blog topic. That way your building the larger blog into an authority blog type. I will tell you that article writing will be the main source of your traffic. You just have to either hire a writer, pick good keywords, and publish your articles on a daily basis for at least the first 30 days.
